FAB11 Workshop:

Design and Fabrication of a Wind Turbine Prototype using 3D Printing Technology

In this project, we will utilize 3D printing technology to fabricate the rotor blades and shaft as an integral unit as well as the supporting tower structure. CAD software will be used to design the rotor blades with aerodynamic surfaces and the supporting structures. Then we will use a 3D printer to fabricate the designed components. Using the printed components, we will assemble a compact wind turbine system and demonstrate its capability in wind energy harvesting.  This is a hands-on project suitable for both high-school and college students to explore. We welcome all the students to contact us for more information on it.
